IHG Hotels & Resorts will bring the Crowne Plaza brand back to Austria with the planned opening of Crowne Plaza Vienna in late Q3 2026. The hotel will be operated in partnership with FEURING Asset Management GmbH and located in Vienna’s Margareten district, between the Opera House and Schönbrunn Palace, with access to the Margaretengürtel underground station.

The property will offer 195 guestrooms, including 22 suites, with top-floor suites providing panoramic city views. The hotel will hold EU Eco- and Austrian Environment Label certifications. Facilities will include five meeting rooms with natural daylight for up to 140 delegates and an underground car park with e-charging stations.

Amenities will feature an Austrian-inspired restaurant serving locally sourced cuisine, a bar, a rooftop fitness terrace, and a wellness area with city views. The hotel’s design is planned by David Chipperfield and inspired by the Austrian National Library.

Crowne Plaza Vienna will join a portfolio of 94 open Crowne Plaza properties in Europe, with 22 more in the pipeline as of 31 March 2026. Recent regional signings include Crowne Plaza Budva in Montenegro and Crowne Plaza Marne-la-Vallée in France. The opening will bring IHG’s presence in Austria to 20 open and pipeline hotels and increase the number of IHG properties in Vienna to 11.

Vienna recorded more than 20 million overnight stays in 2025, its strongest year for city tourism since records began.
