Kid Rockand Donald Trump appear thicker than thieves, as the musician opens up about his friendship with the president and his late-night phone calls with him.
In an interview with Sky News Australia, per Rolling Stone, Kid Rock sat down with host Paul Murray as part of a one-hour special, Trump’s America: 250 Years in the Making. When asked what it’s like to have a friend who’s “running the world,” Kid Rock answered that it’s “f*cking awesome.”
The musician has been an open supporter of Trump since his first presidential term, and even headlined an “All-American Halftime Show” during Super Bowl LX. He’s even caused a stir when he posted a video on social media months ago of two U.S. Army AH-64 Apache helicopters hovering extremely close to his Nashville-area home.
Trump and Kid Rock have been seen together on multiple occasions at different events, like football games and UFC fights. While absent from the recent UFC Freedom 250 Event, Kid Rock admits that the two will often talk on the phone.
“It’s one of my late-night drinking tricks because I know when to get him. He’s so gracious, he always picks up, or he’ll call and check in just to shoot the s***,” he said.
“If I’m sitting around having some beers, if it’s like 11, 12 on a Friday or Saturday, I know he’s up. He sleeps like me, he sleeps five hours.”

While Kid Rock has been an active supporter of Trump and a political ally, he explains that their conversations don’t revolve around politics or state affairs. The singer says that their conversations are between friends and he simply enjoys Trump’s company.
“He’s not calling me to [ask], ‘Hey, what should we do in Iran, Bob?’ I don’t get those calls,” he shared, adding, “I enjoy the hell out of hanging out with him and talking with him and just having a front row seat to the greatest s*** show on Earth.”
In his interview with Murray, he was asked about his thoughts on the New York Times‘ recent report involving the Trump family’s crypto business having generated $1.4 billion. Trump himself was reported to have taken in over $2 million during his first year back in office during his second term.
Kid Rock felt there was no conflict of interest in the long-standing debate about Trump’s business affairs and earnings while president. The singer even responded in support of the president, saying, “No s**, because he’s a f****** businessman, he’s smart. He did that before he was president, and I know his heart and soul.”
