Summertime, and the eatin’ is easy, especially with the return of food-fuelled Fridays on Front to New Westminster this week.
The popular free block party series is firing back up starting on Friday, July 10, on Front Street Mews. One of the region’s most anticipated street parties, Fridays on Front is presented by Downtown New West BIA. Each event will feature artisan vendors, musical performances, and, of course, a lot of great food. And it’s a quick walk from both the New Westminster and Columbia Skytrain Stations.
This year’s Fridays on Front happens every week from July 10 to 24, and picks back up from Aug. 7 to 21, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Guests will be treated to live entertainment and music, children’s activities, community vendors, and more. And bring your appetite to try the menus from the different food trucks or to enjoy drinks served up by Steel&Oak.
There will also be six theme nights to check out during this year’s festivities in Downtown New West. They include:
- July 10 — Filipino Night
- July 17 — Games Night
- July 24 — Retro Night
- Aug. 7 — Fiesta Latina
- Aug. 14 — Pride Night
- Aug. 21 — Indigenous Night
“Whether you come for dinner, dancing, people-watching, or just to soak up the atmosphere, Fridays on Front is your invitation to kick off the weekend in New Westminster,” said Downtown New West BIA on the events’ website.
“This year, expect more of what people love, plus fresh programming, new themes, and the kind of energy that makes summer in Downtown New West feel like nowhere else.”
Organizers previously announced that this year’s event will see the main stage festivities hosted by acclaimed drag performer Justin Abit.
“He’s the legend bringing charisma, charm and laughs every single night,” added organizers on social media.
