When September rolls around this year, some of comedy’s biggest stars will be descending upon Toronto — and no, it’s not for TIFF! Just For Laughs is coming back to the city, and some big names like Pete Davidson, Tiffany Haddish and John Cleese will be headlining.
On Wednesday, Just For Laughs announced a star-studded roster of comedy legends who will be performing at the Toronto edition of the iconic festival this fall.
Some of the big names on the ticket this year include performers like former Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson, plus actors John Cleese and Tiffany Haddish. Audiences will also get a chance to see renowned Brazilian comedian Rafi Bastos, and drag superstars Monét X Change.
Other performances will include comedian Joe List and Lauren Lapkus & Mary Holland from the Lauren and Mary Show, as well as Caitlin Peluffo, Nick Thune, Rachel Feinstein, Johnny Pemberton, Joel Kim Booster and several other comedians.
The Just For Laughs Toronto leg will be taking place at multiple venues across the city. Locations will include Meridian Hall, Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre, Bluma Appel Theatre, Randolph Theatre and the Comedy Bar Bloor and Danforth.
Nick Brazao, VP of Programming & Talent at Just For Laughs, said the festival is set to bring forth a wide range of comedic acts that “audiences are looking for today.”
