Where to catch the final FIFA World Cup matches in and around Vancouver

8 July 20263 Mins Read

With news of TSN’s FIFA World Cup coverage wrapping up at Jack Poole Plaza and the end of Canada Soccer House at the Shipyards, you might be in a bit of a scramble trying to ensure your plans for the remainder of the World Cup are intact. Rest assured, Vancouver’s time as a host city might be up, but there are still plenty of watch parties and fan zones to check out before the end of this electric World Cup season.

Until July 19, the PNE Grounds at Hastings Park is keeping the party vibes alive, and it’s still completely free to enter. You’ll find a mix of massive screens at large viewing areas, as well as smaller ones scattered throughout, including by the bars and washrooms, so you never miss a moment. Plus, all kinds of activations like the Michelob Ultra and Michelob Ultra Zero keep the vibes high all day long. Come for a match, and stay for the experience!

Where: 2901 East Hastings St.

Situated behind Granville Island Brewing, this massive watch party is a must-visit at least once this FIFA season. The energy in the air is palpable, with room for up to 1,000 people, a 24-foot screen, food trucks, a beer garden, kids’ games, and a bike valet. The gates here open one hour before each match and close one hour after.

UBC Properties Trust is bringing the excitement of the global soccer stage to Wesbrook Village with live matches shown on the big screen at Norman MacKenzie Square. Fans can gather under a shaded tent with picnic seating to cheer on their favourite teams in a relaxed, community-focused setting.

Where: 3378 Wesbrook Mall

The iconic pedestrian zone along Granville Street is intact, and it’s here to stay long after the final match. The five blocks have become synonymous with the life of the FIFA party, with expanded patios, food vendors, live music, dancing, and a whole array of on-the-spot festivities.

Where: Granville Street between Georgia and Davie Streets

Over 100 live matches will be broadcast across three locations in Surrey: The Surrey Civic Plaza, Cloverdale Agriplex, and the South Surrey Athletic Park.

In addition to live matches, there will be Full Fan Zone Experiences on select game days with live entertainment, community exhibitors, food trucks, and a beer garden.

Where: Multiple locations in Surrey

The Dunsmuir Patio is hosting free, high-energy outdoor viewing parties on a 12-foot screen on select weekdays until July 15 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Here, you’ll find a mix of bites and sips from the Dunsmuir Food Court and FUNK’s pop-up bar, and plenty of chairs, benches, bean bags, turf seating and standing-room viewing areas.

Where: 1025 Dunsmuir St.

Yes, you read that right! Vancouver’s favourite independent movie theatre is hosting watch parties from July 9 to 19 on its giant movie screen, all the way up to the final final match. You can reserve your free spot online or opt to just show up on game day, though capacity is subject to availability.

Where: 1660 East Broadway

Bars, cafes, patios, and restaurants

Don’t let the end of Vancouver’s run as a host city get you down!
