Calgary is in the middle of its biggest celebration of the year, and with sunshine and summer temperatures in the forecast, there’s no better time to get out and explore the city. Whether you’re looking to embrace the Stampede spirit, spend time outdoors, or find fun activities for the whole family, there’s no shortage of things to do this week.

To make planning your weekend a little easier, we’ve rounded up all the events worth adding to your calendar, so you don’t miss out.

We’re heading into the second and final weekend of the Calgary Stampede, and the excitement around the city shows no signs of slowing. Whether you’re looking to catch the rodeo, explore the midway, enjoy live music, or indulge in some Stampede food, there are countless ways to embrace the spirit before the festivities end.

When: Friday, July 10, to Sunday, July 12, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.

Stampede nightlight wouldn’t be complete without Badlands Music Festival, which has been keeping the city buzzing with unforgettable performances. As the festival winds down this week, fans can catch sets from Jason Ross, Madeon, and Loud Luxury.

Cowboys Music is keeping the party going all weekend long with a stacked lineup of artists across pop, country, and electronic music. One of the biggest highlights will be the Drag Me To Cowboys show led by RuPaul, which will attempt to break the Guinness World record for the largest attendance at a drag show.

Get ready to laugh your way through Stampede with FunnyFest Comedy’s “Stampede of Laughs.” The annual comedy event presents two nights of hilarious performances by some of Canada’s top comedians, plus plenty of food, drinks, prizes, and nonstop laughs.

Calling all little superheroes! Calaway Comic Fest for Kids is bringing a weekend of costumes, characters, and comic-inspired fun to Calaway Park. The family-friendly event invites guests to step into a world of superheroes, themed activities, and opportunities to create unforgettable summer memories.

Ready for a different kind of Stampede experience? Afro Switch Festival is bringing the energy of Afrobeats, hip-hop, and R&B to Calgary for a celebration of music culture and connection. With live performances, DJs, and food vendors, the festival offers a chance to dance and discover new sounds.

Telus Spark is taking guests to the final frontier with its new space-cowboy-themed Spark After Dark event. The adults-only night blends the Wild West with outer space through live country music, interactive exhibits, themed drinks, and after-hours access to the science centre.
