Two Hip-Hop Legends Share Stage for the First Time in 16 Years

We may live in the day and age where people camp outside Target to score the latest gizmos and gadgets, but we all love indulging our sense of nostalgia too.

Jay-Z shocked the world recently by announcing a limited stadium tour, where fans have been chomping at the bit waiting to see who takes the stage with him.

Of course, his superstar wife, Beyoncé, and daughter,Blue Ivy, already broke the internet during Night 1 of his three-show run at Yankee Stadium — but Night 2 was one for the books.

Eminem Joins Jay-Z Onstage For First Time Since 2010

For the first time in 16 years, hip-hop’s biggest icons performed together live in front of a sold-out crowd.

It’s been over two decades since the pair joined forces on their hit song “Renegade” on Jay-Z’s 2001 album The Blueprint, and they delighted fans once again this week as the crowd soaked up every lyric of the historic moment.

The last time they shared the spotlight was at Yankee Stadium during their 2010 Home & Home Tour, where they also performed “Renegade.” This time, however, Eminem stuck around to set the crowd ablaze with “Lose Yourself” — the anthem that propelled his already-stellar career into another stratosphere following the release of his Oscar-winning film 8 Mile and its chart-topping soundtrack.

Pharrell Williams and Slick Rick also turned back the clock with classics like “Excuse Me Miss” and “La Di Da,” but there’s no denying Night 2’s top highlight was bringing the Detroit rapper out to deliver one of hip-hop’s most celebrated collaborations.

The final show of the Yankee Stadium run takes place July 12 at 8 p.m. ET. Beyoncé already cut her husband’s dreadlocks, Blue Ivy already tickled the ivories, Em and Pharrell already shocked fans, so the only question is: who will Jay-Z bring out next for the grand finale?

Kanye West doesn’t have any shows scheduled until July 30. Just sayin’…
