When the cruise line’s newest flagship, MSC World Asia, officially enters service this December, it will debut the largest Venchi chocolate experience at sea. Spanning a massive 3,200 square feet in the ship’s Galleria district on Deck 6, this elegant venue will be a multi-sensory destination that seamlessly blends a high-end chocolate boutique, a premium Italian café, and an artisanal gelateria into one massive space with seating for more than 60 guests.

To celebrate the launch, MSC Cruises and Venchi are debuting an exclusive, limited-edition gelato flavor called “Crunchy Waves.” It will hit select land-based Venchi stores this August for a limited time before becoming a permanent fixture onboard MSC ships.

The Sweet Details: A Live “Chocolate Lab” and Med-Inspired Gelato

If you want to get hands-on, you can step inside the venue’s dedicated “chocolate lab.” Using digital personalization tools, you can design and craft your own custom chocolate bars using top-tier ingredients like premium Piedmont hazelnuts and Venchi’s iconic chocolate caviar.
As for that exclusive new “Crunchy Waves” gelato flavor? It is designed to mimic a playful “sand and sea” effect in your cone, drawing visual inspiration from the Mediterranean. The base is a rich, creamy vanilla gelato topped with a crunchy hazelnut biscuit and salted toffee pieces (inspired by the traditional Italian Bacio di Dama biscuit). The whole thing is finished with a vibrant blue spirulina layer that looks just like the ocean.
