Emirates is Launching ‘Game-Changing’ New Headrests for Economy Passengers, Canada Reviews

21 July 20262 Mins Read

You might have thought all the possible ways to maximise the minimal comfort levels in economy cabins have been tried already. Over the last year, airlines have announced everything from wellbeing zones to ‘lie flat’ options and even sleeping pods.

However, Emirates has just announced the implementation of ‘game-changing’ U-Dream headrests, which are already featured on three of its Airbus A350s, and will have been rolled out across the fleet by the end of 2026.

Plans also include installing them on the airline’s retrofitted A380s and Boeing 777s from early next year.

What are the U-Dream headrests?

The idea is to support the passenger’s head with both a backrest and flexible wings on each side, preventing the head from flopping side to side. Take a look below.

‘We have found a way to significantly improve the comfort for Economy Class passengers, especially those travelling long-haul,’ said Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline, to euronews. ‘The U-Dream changes the game if the person wants to sleep – by supporting the neck in full. No more neck pillows needed.’

Always nice to have one less item to pack, right?
