5 hidden Toronto patios to grab drinks at this summer before everyone else finds out, Canada Reviews

24 July 20262 Mins Read

Summer isn’t summering in Toronto unless you’re soaking up the sun on one of the city’s
endless patios. But we wouldn’t just send you anywhere. We’ve called upon our friend and digital creator Jordan Shore to give you the scoop on the most underrated hidden gems to get your summer on.

1. Henry’s

With brunch now on the menu, the back patio at Henry’s offers the perfect upscale escape from the hustle and bustle of West Queen West. The greenery-filled space feels intimate and relaxed, making it an ideal spot for a long summer brunch. Don’t skip the Morning Pancakes or the Breakfast Martini, twomenu items that are worth the visit alone. 922 Queen St. W.

2. Taberna LX

Located on the second floor of this stunning Portuguese spot, Taberna LX’s sprawling rooftop patio is one of the city’s most underrated places to spend a summer evening. Order a bottle from the all-Portuguese wine list, order some share plates and watch the sun set over one of Toronto’s trendiest neighbour- hoods. 1161 Dundas St. W.

3. George Restaurant

Not many people realize that one of Toronto’s longest-standing restaurant institutions is also home to one of the city’s best hidden patios. Tucked behind George the lush courtyard feels like a secret garden escape in the middle of downtown. Pair a cocktail with one of chef Lorenzo Loseto’s vibrant seasonal dishes, and you’ll quickly forget you’re steps away from
Queen Street East. 111 Queen St. E.

4. Lake Inez

If you happen to score a reservation for Lake Inez’s Mystery Patio this summer, you’re in for a treat. This six-course blind tasting menu experience is hosted by owner Zac Schwartz and held on the restaurant’s intimate back patio. The menu showcases the best seasonal
ingredients of the moment, and because every course is a surprise, no two visits are ever quite the same. 1471 Gerrard St. E.

5. Union

Located on Ossington Avenue, Union is one of Toronto’s most beloved Parisian bistros and home to one of my favourite summer patios in the city. With its charming rustic flair, the space feels more like a hidden courtyard than downtown Toronto. Order the new aspa-
ragus tart, a glass of sparkling wine, and don’t be surprised if you end up staying longer than planned. 72 Ossington Ave.
