A secret cake picnic with live DJs and alcohol-free cocktails is happening in Toronto next month, Canada Reviews

14 August 20262 Mins Read

Dust off your offset spatulas and prep those mixing bowls because Toronto’s sweetest afternoon is officially back.

The team behind Le Dolci Culinary School just announced that the annual Cake Picnic is returning for its third year. If you missed out on the previous viral gatherings, the premise is as delicious as it sounds: a giant outdoor potluck where the only ticket requirement is bringing a homemade cake to share.

Think of the Cake Picnic as the ultimate dessert swap. Over 400 bakers which include everyone from complete novices to seasoned pros, will roll out their picnic blankets at a secret downtown location to slice, share and savour each other’s creations.

Beyond the endless sugar, this year’s lineup includes live DJ sets, alcohol-free cocktails, a coffee bar, henna and glam stations and a photo booth to document your baked goods in all their glory.

Part of the magic of the Cake Picnic is seeing the sheer variety of flavours and designs on display. Past years have seen everything from intricate Lambeth-style piping to a full-on Samosa cake. But even more than the decor, it’s about the heart behind the bakes. You’ll find multi-generational family recipes, cultural flavour twists and the stories that make comfort food so special.

It all takes place on Saturday, September 19th, from 10 a.m.  to 2:00 p.m. at a secret downtown Toronto spot that will be revealed directly to ticket holders. Tickets go live on Friday, August 14, so grab your spot, pick your favourite recipe, and get ready to talk shop with fellow baking fans.

Head over to ledolci.com/pages/cake-picnic to snag yours before they sell out.
