Edmonton is absolutely packed with great events and activities this week. We’ve got the Fringe Festival in full swing alongside Edmonton Mural Fest, not to mention free events around the city all week. If you’re looking to get out before the end of the summer, now’s the chance!

The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival is ranked as one of the top five Fringe Theatre Festivals in the world, next to Edinburgh, Scotland, and Adelaide, Australia. According to its website, it’s also the largest and longest-running festival of its kind in North America. Since 1982, it’s only grown more and more and continues to flourish as one of Edmonton’s most iconic festivals.

If you’re familiar with Fort Edmonton Park‘s Where Dark Things Dwell, its highly anticipated sequel has arrived.
Teams of four will work together in this escape “room” experience to solve puzzles, uncover clues, and complete challenges throughout the park’s 1885 Street, racing to break a mysterious curse before time runs out.

Alegria! is a festive showcase of Latin American cultures at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden.
A line-up of folk dance, storytelling, music and food, plus drums from multiple cultures answering the question: how do we celebrate the rhythms of life? Peru, El Salvador, Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia and more will be represented in this festive showcase of Latin American culture. Orquesta Son Romero will close the day out on a high note with their 14-piece salsa band.

The Edmonton Mural Festival is a month-long celebration of the stunning murals across the city. It focuses on fostering inclusion, connecting artists, and highlighting their talent. Behind the festival, the team’s goals are to elevate local Alberta arts and continue to create opportunities for individuals to get represented in the arts and beautify Edmonton in the process.

The summer brings back the best deals at the Metro. It started on June 2, and it’ll last throughout the summer, meaning $5 Tuesdays are officially back at the theatre.

Located at Salisbury Greenhouse in Sherwood Park, this market comes around every Thursday, rain or shine. You can find a wide variety of offerings here, no matter if it’s food, trinkets, or something entirely different.

124th Grand Market takes over the streets on Thursdays. Each week, there is a selection of over 60 rotating vendors with fresh produce, handmade goods, and trinkets, as well as food trucks that are going to satisfy your taste buds in every way.

Get ready for an unforgettable night of karaoke at The Grindstone Theatre! Join in for an evening of free karaoke with your best pals at one of Edmonton’s best spots.

Edmonton’s Chinatown is going to be absolutely bursting with energy during this August weekend. From Aug. 21 to 23, you’ll be able to watch international teams compete in a beautiful dance championship, dance and sing along to live Cantonese music, or watch an outdoor film beneath the stars.

Edmonton’s ICE District will be transformed for a whole weekend of spectacular Pride events and concerts.
