Edmonton is getting a free gallery walk with paintings and glass-blown sculptures

11 September 20263 Mins Read

The Edmonton Gallery Walk is coming to Edmonton this month for a weekend of gallery art galore. Visitors will be invited to check out new exhibitions, meet local gallery owners, and explore the vibrant art scene located on 124th Street.

According to the Edmonton Gallery Walk, every gallery you’ll visit is licensed by the City of Edmonton, representing its own roster of professional artists. During this walk, you’ll be able to discover some wonderful original art in a range of mediums, ranging from paintings and blown glass to sculptures, all of which you can purchase directly from the galleries.

What to expect at the Edmonton Gallery Walk

This gallery walk will go to six independent art galleries on 124th Street on Saturday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 20. These galleries include:

  • Maud Gallery — 10643 124th St. NW #307, Edmonton, Alta. (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday)
  • Bearclaw Gallery — 10403 124th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta. (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday)
  • Lando Gallery — 10345 124th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta. (10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday)
  • West End Gallery — 10337 124th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta. (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday)
  • Peter Robertson Gallery — 10332 124th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta. (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday)
  • Bugera Lamb Gallery — 10110 124th St. #1b, Edmonton, Alta. (11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday)

On the first day of the gallery walk (Saturday), all galleries will operate according to their own hours with free admission. For the art walk on Sunday, all galleries will be open with free admission from noon to 4 p.m.

During this event, new exhibitions will be shown, guests will be able to chat with local artists about their work, and you’ll get a chance to support the excellent galleries that keep Edmonton’s art scene alive. Some of these spots, like West End Gallery, have even been around for over five decades.

If you need a little help searching for the galleries, the event’s Facebook page has provided a map of the gallery walk route for your convenience.
