Aldi’s Massive 6-Piece Comforter Set Brings All of the Cottagecore Coziness to Your Bedroom

13 September 20263 Mins Read

Can I ask a question? Why can’t a bedding set just come with everything you need to make the bed look, well, done? These days, getting a comforter and its matching shams in the same package can feel downright generous. But if you’ve ever tried to recreate that layered, styled-bed look you see in catalogs and on Pinterest, you know a comforter is really only the beginning.

A well-made bed usually involves a few different players: the comforter or duvet for warmth and the main visual moment, shams to give the pillows some height, a coverlet or quilt folded at the foot for another layer of texture and color, plus those decorative pillows that always seem to multiply when you’re not looking. And, of course, there are the sheets and pillowcases underneath it all.

Kirkton House 6-Piece Comforter and Coverlet Set in Checker, $39.99 at Aldi

Kirkton House Comforter and Coverlet Set

So wouldn’t it be nice if one package could actually get you most of the way there? That’s what makes a six-piece bedding set particularly intriguing. Aldi’s Kirkton House Comforter and Coverlet Set includes a comforter, two shams, a coverlet and two quilted shams—basically, a head start on that layered look without requiring a second shopping trip.

The set comes in both King and Queen sizing, both priced at $39.99, which is a great value. What’s really nice about the checker print, which is featured on the comforter and regular shams, is that it’s a warm neutral that pairs well with anything. It provides a cottage-like aesthetic that makes a room feel all kinds of cozy.

The quilted coverlet is a solid dark-ish taupe, and the quilted shams follow suit in the same colorway.

For the most styled look, start with your sheets and sleeping pillows, then spread the comforter over the bed as your main layer. Instead of tucking the coverlet underneath, fold it across the bottom third of the bed. That little bit of layering makes the bed look more finished and gives you some extra texture and dimension without much effort.

Up top, put the two regular shams behind your sleeping pillows, then place the quilted shams in front. The different textures keep the pillow arrangement from looking too matchy-matchy, while the coverlet adds another visual layer at the foot of the bed.
