How this one necessity is key to confident travelling for Calgary jet setters

16 September 20263 Mins Read

You’ve built your itinerary, packed your bags, secured all your travel documents, and are ready to embark on an adventure. But did you remember to bring your peace of mind?

Life is unpredictable, whether you’re on vacation or not, and in this day and age, travel insurance should be non-negotiable. After all, some things are out of your control, and a comprehensive insurance plan can help you jet off worry-free.

CAA Travel Insurance*

But where to begin? When considering travel insurance, it’s worthwhile to go beyond the basics. This means you’ll want a policy that covers upfront payments, has no lifetime limits or age restrictions, includes coverage for emergency medical expenses, and offers coverage options for pre-existing medical conditions.

CAA Travel Insurance has all of that, and more. With over a century of experience, CAA is committed to helping Canadians before, during, and after their travels. From reliable assistance and comprehensive coverage to straightforward claims support, the CAA team is there to help you when it matters most.

The coverage you need, when you need it

Maybe you have a bad reaction to a jellyfish sting in the tropics and need to go to the ER, or a simple accident results in an out-of-province ambulance ride. CAA Travel Insurance includes coverage for unexpected medical emergencies while travelling, with the option to add coverage for pre-existing medical conditions.**

With CAA’s Pre-Existing Medical Condition Rider,*** even if you were recently prescribed a medication, you will be protected as long as you’ve been taking the new medication for at least seven days before your departure date.

Another perk is cancellation and interruption coverage. This helps you get your travel costs refunded if a covered emergency forces you to cancel a trip before departure. It also keeps you on schedule if your trip gets delayed or interrupted after departure.

You don’t have to be a CAA Member to purchase coverage, but members can always save up to 10 per cent.**** Just a little extra perk!

Getting a quote is easy. Speak to a CAA Travel Insurance Agent ahead of your next trip at 1-833-673-3030, and help protect what matters most so you can focus on making memories.

*CAA Travel Insurance, an Orion Travel Insurance product, is underwritten by Echelon Insurance. (except in British Columbia). Certain exclusions, limitations and restrictions apply. A Medical Questionnaire may be required if you are 60 years of age and older. Quotes are valid for 30 days. BCAA Travel Insurance is sold through B.C.A.A. Holdings Ltd. dba BCAA Insurance Agency, a licensed insurance agent and is underwritten by BCAA Insurance Corporation. Insurance claims are administered by Echelon Insurance and its subcontractors, Xodus Travel Services Inc.

**To have your pre-existing medical condition covered by your travel insurance policy, the condition must be stable as defined by your policy. See your policy for details.

***All pre-existing medical conditions must be stable within 7 days prior to departure. Certain exclusions, limitations and restrictions apply.

****Applies to CAA Members in good standing with dues paid in full by membership expiry date. 10 per cent savings applies to the total premium excluding applicable taxes. Minimum premium applies. Excludes Visitors to Canada Insurance.
