• Hilton has introduced the Home2 Suites by Hilton Clean Energy Prototype, an optional, scalable hotel design concept that combines all-electric systems, renewable energy and high-efficiency building technologies to help owners lower operating costs, reduce carbon emissions and build more resilient hotel assets.
• The Home2 Suites Clean Energy Prototype is designed to deliver measurable owner value, with energy modeling indicating potential annual energy cost reductions of 18% to 40%, approximately 30% greater energy efficiency and significant emissions reductions compared to a traditional Home2 Suites prototype.
• Hilton developed the prototype to address rising hotel operating costs and evolving energy markets, providing owners and developers with a turnkey option that supports long-term asset performance while maintaining the consistent guest experience associated with the Home2 Suites brand.

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the availability of the new Home2 Suites by Hilton Clean Energy Prototype, an optional, turnkey offering for U.S. hotel owners and developers designed to lower operational energy costs and reduce carbon emissions while preserving the award-winning Home2 Suites guest experience. With U.S. hotel utility costs rising 28% over the past five years according to the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the Home2 Suites by Hilton Clean Energy Prototype was developed in response to evolving energy markets and growing industry demand for scalable, practical sustainability solutions. This new offering is Hilton’s first prototype designed with zero operational emissions to be made widely available to hotel owners and developers.

Designed to Help Owners Reduce Costs and Emissions

With more than 9,400 hotels operating around the world, Hilton is helping owners design, build and operate more resilient, sustainable properties through efficient hotel design, operational best practices and technology innovation, aligned with its Travel with Purpose strategy. The Home2 Suites Clean Energy Prototype is Hilton’s most energy-efficient hotel design package that combines all-electric systems, on-site and off-site renewable energy and an enhanced building envelope to reduce operational energy costs for owners while creating a stronger return on investment over the life of the property (compared with a traditional Home2 Suites prototype.)  

Based on a modeling analysis conducted across 13 U.S. cities, the design is expected to: 

• increase energy efficiency by 30%; 
• support increased property valuation; 
• reduce annual energy costs by 18–40%; and 
• reduce operational carbon emissions by 440 metric tons.* 

*Dependent on market conditions and compared to a traditional Home2 Suites prototype model utilizing traditional energy sources like natural gas or nonrenewable grid-sourced electricity.

Expanding Energy Cost Savings for Owners

Beyond the Home2 Suites Clean Energy Prototype, Hilton continues to explore additional ways to apply these solutions across different markets, operating environments and owner needs. For example, Hilton’s procurement arm, Hilton Supply Management, continues to expand its energy procurement program that helps hotels manage energy costs, improve budget predictability and evaluate renewable and lower-carbon energy options where available. In 2025, the program helped participating owners save approximately 17% on their energy costs and avoided more than 102,130 metric tons of CO₂ while supporting more sustainable operations and lower energy costs.
