The two new episodes tie into the release of the LEGO One Piece animation specials added today.

If you’re spending your Tuesday diving into the brand-new LEGO One Piece animated specials, Netflix has a little extra treasure waiting for you. In a surprise drop today, Netflix has added a brand-new second season to its ONE PIECE: Bonus Content page, giving fans a fun behind-the-scenes look at the making of the new brick-tastic special!
As we covered earlier today, the new two-part LEGO One Piece special is a fun, lighthearted appetizer to tide us over while we wait for Season 3 (The Battle of Alabasta). Narrated by our favorite unreliable storyteller, Usopp, the special recaps the events of the first two seasons with a wacky, over-the-top LEGO flair.
Now, fans can head over to the ONE PIECE Bonus Content hub on Netflix—which originally launched back in March to showcase the incredible VFX, stunt work, and set design of the live-action Season 2—to find a brand-new 2-episode season titled “LEGO ONE PIECE: More to Explore.”
Here is what you can expect from the two newly added TV-G-rated episodes:
- Episode 1: Cast Unboxing (7m) – There’s nothing quite like seeing yourself immortalized as a LEGO minifigure! This 7-minute episode features the new live-action Season 2 cast members reacting to their official LEGO ONE PIECE sets for the very first time. You’ll get to see Lera Abova (Miss All Sunday/Robin), Callum Kerr (Smoker), Julia Rehwald (Tashigi), David Dastmalchian (Mr. 3), and Charithra Chandran (Miss Wednesday/Vivi) geek out over unboxing their brick counterparts. You may recall Netflix Anime released a video like this last year, but this is an extended recut.
- Episode 2: Behind the Voices (4m) – Ever wonder what the live-action Straw Hats look like in a recording booth? This short featurette takes us inside Milestone Studios with the original cast, including a highly energetic Iñaki Godoy (Luffy). While it’s certainly fun seeing the actors side-by-side with the finished LEGO animation, it doesn’t reveal too much about the production. Keep your expectations in check for a deep dive, too—sadly, almost half of that short 4-minute runtime is just the end credits!
Even if the second episode is a bit light on substance, this BTS drop still perfectly complements what showrunner Tom Hyndman told us in our exclusive interview this morning. When discussing how the live-action cast adapted to voice acting for the LEGO special, Hyndman noted that because the cast had been living with these characters for years, the adjustment was seamless. “It was just bringing a little bit more animated energy… with LEGO, you can’t really ever go over the top… we could just say, ‘More, more, more!’” You can clearly see that high energy translating into the booth in the side-by-side footage of Episode 2.
While the original Season 1 bonus content drop gave us 5 in-depth episodes breaking down the massive scale of Tomorrow Studios’ production, this mini-season serves as a delightful, albeit very brief, dessert to celebrate the LEGO collaboration.
