Netflix to Livestream NASA’s SpaceX Crew-13 Launch Worldwide

After proving that deep space exploration and streaming go hand-in-hand earlier this year, Netflix is teaming up with NASA once again. We’ve just got confirmation that Netflix will be carrying the live broadcast for the upcoming SpaceX Crew-13 mission launch on October 1st.

As we previously covered, Netflix launched a partnership with NASA back in mid-2025 to bring livestreams directly into the platform’s user interface as part of an ongoing push into live programming. While they started off strong, the amount of livestreams was a little disappointing but that all changed this Summer and thankfully, the partnership is continuing from October 1st.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Crew-13 mission and when to set your alarms to watch it live on Netflix.

What is the SpaceX Crew-13 Mission?

If you’re wondering what exactly the SpaceX Crew-13 mission entails, it marks NASA’s 13th commercial crew rotation to the International Space Station, where a four-person international team will take the reins for a months-long science expedition. Once their SpaceX Dragon capsule safely docks with the floating laboratory, the crew—featuring both veteran and rookie astronauts from NASA, the Canadian Space Agency, and Roscosmos—will conduct hundreds of vital scientific experiments, oversee new technology demonstrations, and handle critical station maintenance to help pave the way for future deep space exploration before returning to Earth in 2027.

The four-person crew is headed to the International Space Station (ISS) and features an international quartet of spaceflight veterans and rookies:

  • Jessica Watkins (NASA Astronaut & Commander)
  • Luke Delaney (NASA Astronaut & Pilot)
  • Joshua Kutryk (Canadian Space Agency)
  • Sergey Teteryatnikov (Roscosmos)

Once safely docked at the ISS, the crew will take over operations, running vital science experiments and maintaining the station through 2027.

Netflix’s Stellar Viewership for Prior NASA Livestreams

If you’re wondering why Netflix is pushing so hard into rocket launches, look no further than the official viewership numbers they raked in this Spring.

Back in April 2026, Netflix broadcast the historic Artemis II Lunar Flyby (having chosen not to stream the initial launch) followed just days later by the Artemis II Splashdown. Thanks to the recently released Netflix Engagement Report for H1 2026, we now have the exact data on how those broadcasts performed—and it proves there’s an audience for these major events. .

Combined, the two live streams pulled in an impressive 3.8 million viewing hours globally. Here is the official breakdown from the H1 2026 data dump:

  • NASA+ Live on Netflix: NASA’s Artemis II Crew Comes Home (Runtime: 3:54) – 1,600,000 Hours Viewed | 400,000 Views
  • NASA+ Live on Netflix: NASA’s Artemis II: Lunar Fly-By (Runtime: 10:10) – 2,200,000 Hours Viewed | 200,000 Views

While they might not be pulling in viewership numbers rivaling the biggest Netflix live streams, like Jake Paul beating up a senior, generating 600,000 equivalent views with those runtimes for a live science broadcast is an undeniable success for Netflix’s growing live event division. It easily got more viewing hours than Netflix’s hotdog eating competition but naturally falls far behind live sporting events. That said, for a non-exclusive livestream, it’s a good nice to have for Netflix.

How and When to Watch the Crew-13 Launch on Netflix

Ready to watch humanity head back to the ISS? The official Netflix livestream for the launch begins coverage at 2:30 PM BST on Thursday, October 1st, 2026 (ahead of the targeted liftoff time).

Netflix will tap directly into NASA’s official broadcast, meaning you can expect to see live commentary, mission control check-ins, and the countdown right alongside your favorite original series. Netflix streaming the broadcast does not impact the streams availability on the NASA website or YouTube.

You can add the title directly to your watchlist here and catch replays too (Netflix’s UI strangely says there’s 35 episodes when it’s actually just 3 at the time of publishing).

Official Coverage Start Time: Thursday, October 1 at 13:30 UTC
