Rosewood New Zealand has appointed Jason Viljoen as Cluster Director of Talent & Culture, with responsibility for people and culture initiatives at Rosewood Cape Kidnappers, Rosewood Kauri Cliffs and Rosewood Matakauri.
Viljoen will be based at Rosewood Cape Kidnappers and lead the development and execution of talent and culture strategies across the New Zealand portfolio. His responsibilities include associate engagement, leadership development, talent retention and organizational culture.
Viljoen has more than two decades of hospitality experience. He began his career as a night receptionist and later held senior leadership positions in hotel operations. He became a general manager at age 28 before moving to New Zealand and transitioning into talent and culture leadership.
Over the past decade, Viljoen has specialized in talent and culture leadership in hospitality. His work has included initiatives related to associate engagement, retention and organizational performance.
In his previous role, Viljoen led a diversity, equity and inclusion committee. He also established partnerships with low-decile schools and Recreate NZ to support education, training and employment pathways for young people and underrepresented groups.
Viljoen will work with leadership teams across Rosewood New Zealand on employee experience and the region’s lodge portfolio.
