Halloween is just around the corner, and a Toronto sweet shop is putting a twist on the spooky holiday this weekend, giving Torontonians the chance to get their hands on $1,000 in cash hidden inside a giant chocolate skull!
The Grand Order of Divine Sweets is bringing back its fifth annual Grand Haunt on Saturday, Oct. 24, sending participants on a free scavenger hunt through downtown Toronto in search of clues, treats and a potentially lucrative Halloween surprise.
The three-hour adventure runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with participants visiting five mystery locations throughout the downtown core. At each stop, they’ll collect a stamp before making their way to the shop’s Queen St. W. location to complete the challenge.
Those who collect all five stamps will receive a sweet treat, while participants aged 18 and older can enter a draw for the grand prize: a chocolate smash skull containing $1,000 in cash!
And if you’re planning to show off your Halloween costume a little early, dressing up will earn you an extra draw from the Spooky Cauldron.
The shop is no stranger to elaborate treasure hunts. Each year, it hosts an Easter egg hunt featuring prize-filled treasure chests hidden across the city, like handcrafted chocolate eggs containing $500 or $1,000 in cash!
The Grand Order of Divine Sweets is located at 1162 Queen St. W. The Grand Haunt takes place Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free. Follow the shop on Instagram for updates.
