The holiday season is just around the corner, and if you are planning to spend quality time with your loved ones watching Christmas classics, Disney has a surprise for you. The production giant is bringing back its animated classic, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, to the TV screens for the first time in more than two decades, as part of The Wonderful World of Disney’s holiday lineup.
Released in 1983, the short film is a retelling of the Charles Dickens classic with the usual Disney characters in the familiar roles.
Scrooge McDuck is Ebenezer Scrooge, the wealthy miser who is forced to re-evaluate his life after his encounter with the three spirits on Christmas Eve. Mickey Mouse is Bob Cratchit, and Donald Duck, Goofy, and a number of other Disney characters are also in the tale.
Directed by Burny Mattinson, the film was Mickey Mouse’s return to the big screen after a long time, and it picked up an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short Film.
The movie will air on Wednesday, November 25, at 8 p.m. EST.
