Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are giving longtime fans a trip back to their Disney Channel days.
The childhood friends star together in a new Rare Beauty campaign that recreates the casual, bedroom-shot videos they used to make for YouTube.
In the campaign video that was shared Wednesday, October 28, Gomez and Lovato dance around a bedroom set, play with makeup and look through old photos. The setting is styled to resemble the room where they filmed videos as teens.
Rare Beauty’s Instagram caption kicked off with “YO YO YO 🤭💗” before declaring, “18 years later, Delena is back with a vlog, and yes, they’re still making each other (and us!) blush.”

Why did Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato collab?
The campaign, titled “Still Making Each Other Blush,” promotes the $50 Delena Soft Pinch Blush Bundle which is available through Rare Beauty.
Lovato called the collaboration a “full-circle moment,” in a press release, saying, “Being on set together felt like we were back in our old bedrooms making YouTube videos and playing with makeup.” Gomez added, “Coming together for this campaign was a beautiful reminder of that history and a chance to celebrate who we are today. One and the same….always.”
Fans had guessed the pair were working together after Rare Beauty teased the campaign on Tuesday. Once the video arrived, many started freaking out in the comments.
“the world has healed a little today!” one person wrote.
“Why are there tears in my eyes,” another said.
A third commented, “I literally thought it was an old video at the beginning. Omgosh🤯”
A friendship that began on Barney & Friends
Gomez and Lovato’s friendship began long before their Disney Channel days. The two met in 2002, when they were just 7 years old, while waiting to audition for Barney & Friends in Texas. They both landed roles on the show’s seventh season, then went on to become familiar faces on Disney Channel.
Gomez starred in Wizards of Waverly Place, while Lovato appeared in Camp Rock and Sonny with a Chance. The Rare Beauty campaign also nods to their 2009 Disney Channel movie Princess Protection Program. In campaign photos, the pair wear gowns and tiaras while sitting on luggage, echoing the film’s promotional poster.
