Grand Hyatt The Red Sea has opened on Shura Island as the second Hyatt-branded property in The Red Sea coastal destination and the eighth Hyatt-branded hotel in Saudi Arabia.
The resort has 430 rooms, suites and villas. Guest rooms include private balconies or terraces overlooking the sea, lagoon or gardens. Select accommodations feature private pools and villa accommodations. Room features include bedding, bathrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, in-room technology, bath amenities and minibars.
Muza Lab designed the accommodations using Shura Island’s Coral Bloom concept, The Reef Flower Garden. Foster + Partners created the Coral Bloom master-planning concept. The resort’s canopy structures are made using recycled fishing nets and are inspired by reef forms, prisms of light and reflections on water.
The property has nine dining and social venues. Embers and Drift Pool Bar are open. Embers serves live-fire meats and seafood, while Drift Pool Bar offers beverages and light bites.
Seven additional venues are scheduled to open later: The Amalfi Club, Café Maude French bistro, Havana Social, Charcoal Tandoor Fire Grill, El Ta’koy Hawaiian street food by Chef Luis Pous, Akira Back Korean BBQ and 2am: dessert bar by Janice Wong. Akira Back is a Michelin-starred chef, and Janice Wong is a pastry chef.
The resort has five pools: the outdoor Drift Pool, Amalfi Pool and Main Pool, along with an Indoor Lap Pool and Spa Vitality Pool. Its 8,070-square-foot Ethereal Spa has 12 treatment rooms, including 10 indoor and two outdoor rooms, and features the VOYA brand. The property also has a 5,380-square-foot fitness center.
Meeting and event facilities include five meeting rooms, a Junior Ballroom and the Grand Ballroom, which is the largest on Shura Island. The facilities are for meetings, incentives, conferences and celebrations.
