A free restaurant dinner that puts kids at the centre of the experience is returning to Toronto this fall. On September 1, The Kids Table will bring 33 children together at one very long table at Liliana restaurant on Queen West for a meal prepared by chef Marvin Palomo.
The dinner is being organized by The Mighty Studio, a Toronto portrait studio led by photographer Hailey York, in collaboration with Liliana, so the little guests can expect tons of photos to be taken throughout the evening! The experience is complimentary and open to children aged seven and older (so, old enough to sit, eat, and play along without having a parent beside them), but families must apply for one of the limited seats.
“Real food, real chaos, real photographs. Complimentary, ages 7 plus, application only…..150 families applied last time, so don’t sit on this one,” The Mighty Studio wrote in a recent Instagram post, noting that it will be a “genuinely hilarious evening.”
All you have to do is fill out the form on their website, include info about your child, attach a photo of them, and make sure you’re free Tuesday, September 1 at 5 pm. Since spots are capped, you’ll be notified if your kid gets a spot (just keep in mind that all images from the evening will be shared, so a release is required).
Oh, and of course, food and dessert will also be served! Although the menu for the children’s dinner hasn’t been revealed, Liliana serves Italian dishes shaped by chef Palomo’s experience cooking in Italy and Asia, making it worth a visit even outside the event.
Liliana is located at 1198 Queen St. W. Visit their website for registration info.
