Air Canada launches new non-stop flights from Vancouver to Guangzhou, China

3 September 20263 Mins Read

Are you looking at destinations in China for work or vacation? We’ve got great news for you. Air Canada has officially launched five new international destinations and seven new routes, including non-stop flights from Vancouver to Guangzhou, China, a massive culinary and commercial hub.

Starting in early May 2027, Vancouver travelers can visit Guangzhou on one flight, with service offered year-round.

Air Canada is the only North American carrier to connect directly to Guangzhou, marking the airline’s third destination in mainland China.

Guangzhou is the capital of Guangdong province in the Pearl River Delta, a leading region for manufacturing and high-tech innovation in China. It is also widely recognized as the birthplace of dim sum and rooted in centuries of this cultural and culinary history.

“Summer 2027 marks the most extensive intercontinental expansion in Air Canada’s history,” says Mark Galardo, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, and president of cargo at Air Canada. “From the expansive trade hub in the Pearl River Delta to the relaxing Adriatic coastline, each of our five new destinations and many schedule enhancements support commerce and tourism and create exciting new opportunities for people to explore the world.”

When are the first direct flights from Vancouver to Guangzhou?

Flights to Guangzhou will be on board the Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, featuring Air Canada Signature, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.

Passengers can officially book their flights on May 4, 2027.

New and expanded routes from Toronto and Montreal

Other new non-stop routes to look out for next year include several from Toronto, including to Oslo, Norway; Shannon, Ireland; and Nice, France.

Toronto’s London Heathrow Daytripper and daily flights to Shanghai will also resume, and a new year-round route to Guatemala City will kick off this December.

From Montréal, there will soon be Air Canada flights to Basel, Switzerland, and Dubrovnik, Croatia, for the first time. Plus, its flights to Tenerife, Lima, and Guatemala City will extend to year-round service.

All of these new and expanded routes support Air Canada’s long-term growth strategy, which is set to create more than 1,500 jobs by 2028.
