Aldi's 12-Piece Kitchen Set Is Exactly What You Need Make Big Batch Cooking a Breeze

I’m going to go out on a limb here and make a big assumption that most of us (not all, but most) are in sort of a natural rotation with the meals we make at home. This is especially true if you’re feeding picky eaters who simply like what they like (no judgement). It’s one of those comforts of home. Yeah, it would be nice to mix things up and come up with something new night after night, but who has the time or energy for that? Let me just say that I do not.

If I’m making mostly the same stuff week in and week out, I like to cook things up in big batches for freezing. It just makes my life a little easier in the weeks ahead. Even just meal prepping ingredients I know I’m going to use during the week is a major time-saver. Of course to do all of this, I need food storage, and a lot of it.

Crofton Rectangle Blue Container, $14.99 at Aldi

This is exactly why whenever Aldi busts out one of their container sets in the Aldi Finds aisle, I hop in the car and head straight there. Take this 12-piece Crofton Rectangle Container Set, for instance. There are 12 different sized rectangular food storage containers with accompanying snap on lids that are perfect for stacking in the fridge to save space. And the whole set only costs $14.99, which is an incredible price for this many pieces.

To say a glass food storage set of this size typically costs a lot more is an understatement. In fact, a brief search of the Interwebs pulled up the closest thing to the Aldi price, which is still $4 more on sale. It’s the OXO Good Grips Smart Seal Glass Container – Set of 12 at The Container Store for $18.99, but regularly priced at $34.99.

Aldi is also selling a 12-piece container set in a round shape if you prefer that to rectangular. And there’s a red colorway as well, just note that when Aldi says “blue” and “red” in this instance they just mean the rim around the lids are those colors, the containers themselves are transparent. What’s the same about all of these food storage sets, however, is that each sells at that affordable $14.99 price.
