All ‘Freeze Frame’ camera locations in Control Resonant

5 October 202614 Mins Read

The “Freeze Frame” quest in Control Resonant will have you searching for a camera that freezes you in place when it takes a picture of you.

To avoid being frozen (and potentially save civilians), you need to hide from their lenses and approach them from behind to shut them off. There are multiple cameras scattered across every zone. You’re given instant photos as hints on where to find them, but the photos only show so much.

There are two cameras in every zone, but before you hunt them down, we recommend grabbing the Shift and Reach traversal abilities.

Here’s where to find every “Freeze Frame” camera in Control Resonant.

Downtown ‘Freeze Frame’ camera locations in Control Resonant

Gravity Town camera

This camera is located in the northwestern region of Downtown, just east of the Dense Patterning area and south of the West Supply Route Station. To get here, you’ll need Shift from the Incursion Fault in the West Incursion Zone, so make sure to grab that first.

The easiest way to get here is to follow the road southwest from the West Supply Route Station. You’ll drop onto a lower street, and there will be an upside-down building to your east. Look up to see that it has a locked metal door.

Use Shift to go up the vertical wall to your left, and drop onto the rooftop with the door. Then, break it open with Crush, and shut the camera’s lid to turn it off.

East Downtown camera

The second camera in Downtown is located in the southeast corner of the eastern region. You will need Reach, which can be obtained from the Subway Fault in the Evacuation Zone, to get here.

To get to the eastern area of Downtown, head to Lookout Point and use Reach on the elevated metal platform. Just below you will be a bunch of power cores. You’ll need one to open a door behind the camera, but first, we recommend grabbing the “Extended Rush” talent and practicing the route.

First, jump onto the green storage container building to the right of the power cores. Then, hit one, quickly jump back to the green building, and over to the construction site. Continue south where you’ll see a building with an uncharged power core on its roof. Speed on over and hit it to swap over the charge.

Then, hit the power core to get the charge and go between the buildings to the south. Turn to the right, where you’ll see another uncharged power core on the street below, and hit it with your charged weapon. The door will unlock, and you’ll find the camera inside.

Central ‘Freeze Frame’ camera locations in Control Resonant

Watchtower camera

The camera in the Watchtower is the first camera that you can find.

To get there, head to the lowest floor of the Watchtower (one floor below the elevator), and go into the orange-red lit room. Go to the eastern corner and jump up the scaffolding, but don’t run into the hallway at the top. You can see the camera from here, and if you get too close, it’ll take a picture of you.

Instead, jump into the hole in the ceiling, and drop into the second hole. This will put you behind the camera, allowing you to turn it off.

Southwest Central camera

The second camera in Central is located on the top floor of a brick factory northeast of the parking garage.

To get to it, you can either use Reach or jump over from the roof of the parking garage. Reach is much quicker, as you’ll need to deal with a bunch of enemies in the parking garage, but if you don’t have the traversal ability, it’ll be your only option.

For this camera, you need to intentionally get yourself caught in its field of view. When it disappears, go into the building and down to the bottom floor. Defeat the enemies, and open the red door that leads outside. Once you step outside, the camera will reappear. Retrace your steps back to the top, and turn off the camera.

West Incursion Zone ‘Freeze Frame’ camera locations in Control Resonant

For both West Incursion Zone cameras, you need Shift, so make sure to complete the Incursion Fault inside the Parking Garage first.

The first camera can be found immediately after you complete the Incursion Fault in the Parking Garage. Head northeast from the Parking Garage, where you’ll find a sideways building. If you look toward the top of the building, you’ll see a small red light, which is the camera.

Use Shift to walk onto the building, but don’t walk toward the camera. Instead, walk to the right and jump over to the rooftop. Then, jump back to the previous building, but to the higher rooftop. Walk over to the edge, drop to the ground behind the camera, and shut its lid.

Suspended scaffolding camera

The second camera in the West Incursion Zone is located on a suspended scaffolding platform in the southeastern corner, just northwest of the Museum of Curiosities.

Walk down the street to the west, and use Shift to get to the road on the ceiling. Go to the edge where you’ll see a floating platform of traffic cones and garbage cans.

Run off the edge (don’t jump), and wait for your screen to invert itself. Then, jump to the platform and the next one that appears. From here, jump to the higher suspended scaffolding platform, and you’ll be right behind the camera.

Evacuation Zone ‘Freeze Frame’ camera locations in Control Resonant

East Evacuation Zone camera

The first camera in the Evacuation Zone is found on the east side of the area, just southwest of the “Main Street” fast travel door and the map pylon.

However, to turn it off, you’ll need to charge the power core behind the camera. Go to the power cores just south of the Evac Building, and turn to the west. Hit a core, run west down the street, and transfer the electricity into the uncharged power core just before the door. Then, hit the core, go through the door (or Reach over it), and transfer the electricity into another uncharged power core just down the street. Look toward the end of the street, and you’ll see a metal platform that leads to a rooftop. For the last stretch, hit the core, make your way up to the roof, and transfer the electricity to the power core on top. This will open the door behind the camera, allowing you to turn it off.

Northeast Evacuation Zone camera

The second camera in the Evacuation Zone is located on a building just south of the Railyard Street Station. To get this camera, you’ll need Reach from the Subway Fault, which is inside the Railyard Street Station.

Use Reach to get to the roof, and intentionally get caught by the camera. The camera will disappear, but you’ll be able to go inside the building. Exit the building through the front door on the bottom floor, and the camera will reappear. Retrace your steps to the top floor, but this time through the building, and you’ll walk up behind the camera.

The Park ‘Freeze Frame’ camera locations in Control Resonant

Sewer entrance camera

The first camera is on a suspended scaffolding platform outside the southern sewer entrance in The Park. If you haven’t been to this area of The Park, you’ll need to first go through the northern sewer entrance and exit out of the south.

To reach this camera, you need to turn on the power core that is further down the road, below the elevator. Luckily, a charged power core can be found down the street to the south.

Transfer the electricity, and ride the elevator up to the top. Then, glide your way over to the higher platform, and land behind the camera on the platform below.

Nomad Avenue Station camera

The second camera is located inside the Nomad Avenue Station, which is located in the southwest area of The Park. The station entrance is just beside a moldy chasm in the road and a movie theater.

Go down the stairs and you’ll find the camera on your right. Follow the path to the left, where you’ll find a door covered in white mold. Use either the Ignite or Inferno combat ability, which is unlocked by defeating The Deserter resonant in Central, on the door to open it. Continue along the path, and you’ll end up behind the camera.

Underpass ‘Freeze Frame’ camera locations in Control Resonant

Northeast Underpass camera

The first camera in the Underpass can be found just near the entrance. As you’re following the line of glow sticks to The Spire, you’ll see a pillar with a bright yellow light and a couple of enemies frozen in place.

Jump over to the pillar before the enemies, but don’t jump closer to the camera. Instead, look below the camera, and you’ll see a point that you can Reach to. Use Reach, defeat the enemies ahead, and drop into the hole. The camera will be at the end of the hallway to the northwest.

Camera on pillar south of Tubes Island

The second camera is located on the pillar just south of Tubes Island, which is where you’ll find the Underpass Fault. The easiest way to get to the island is to follow the path of pillars to the west of the Spire.

Dylan standing in a room covered in blue mold looking at a red carpeted ceiling in Control Resonant. Graphic: Johnny Yu/Polygon | Source images: Remedy Entertainment via Polygon

When you first get to the island, you’ll enter an area full of blue mold and enemies. The camera is in the hole on the left that is just high enough that you can’t use Elevate to get into it. There is a path around its left and right, but these will take you to the front of the camera. Instead, take a turn around the corner on the right, and use Reach to the red carpeted area on the ceiling.

Use Shift to walk along the wall to a hole in the ground, but don’t immediately drop into the hole. Walk up to the hole and try to land on the blue mold in the corner.

There will be another hole in the ground below you. Jump into it, and you’ll end up behind the camera.

Unknown ‘Freeze Frame’ camera locations in Control Resonant

Construction site camera

The first camera is located on the upside-down portion of the central island. If you’re coming from the Oldest House, make sure to use Reach to get to the buildings above you. Then, head to the northern portion of the island to find a construction site. The camera can be found on the bottom floor.

To get there, go to the second floor of the construction site, and take the stairs down. Be careful, because as soon as you enter the main room, a bunch of enemies will appear.

Defeat them and look for a large growth of mold near the middle of the eastern wall, just beside a set of stairs. The camera will be directly to its left.

Factory Island camera

The second camera is inside a Wear’Em & Wash’Em laundromat on Factory Island, which is the southwest island in the Unknown zone. To get there, use the pylons from Pope’s research balloon in the southwest area of the central island. This will create a platform that allows you to fly over to Factory Island. If you already have the “Factory Island” fast travel door, you can teleport there instead.

Once you land on Factory Island, look to the west to see a vertical street and sideways buildings. The laundromat will be on the street, but it’ll freeze you if you try to go to the street. Instead, use Reach to get to the building on the right side of the street, and walk across the rooftops to get behind the building. Drop into the area below, and walk into the open garage. Go inside the door and you’ll end up behind the camera.

How to contain the cameras in Downtown in Control Resonant

After you find every camera, Zoe will tell you that cameras are going haywire outside the Oldest House. When you first get there, you’ll see seven cameras standing in a line. Your goal is to turn off every camera, but when you shut one of their lids, the rest will teleport away. Additionally, if you get caught by a camera, you will revert to the step before, so try your best to avoid their gaze.

For the first step, approach the area from the east, as the cameras will take a photo of you if you come from the west.

Turn off any of the cameras, and the rest will teleport to a roof to the north. To avoid getting caught, go into the alleyway to the northeast and jump onto the metal platform. Then go over to the rooftop with the cameras, and shut its camera lid.

The cameras will then teleport to a green building just in front of you. Drop down and go to the brick building just southwest of the area and use Reach to get to its roof. Drop behind the cameras, and shut one of their lids.

Two of the cameras will move to the roof of the building in front of you, and two will move to the ground in front of you. Turn around and jump over the wall, and go around to the north side of the area to find a door behind the cameras on the ground. Approach a camera and turn it off.

The cameras then move to the top of the concrete wall in the southwest corner. Go back to the brick building from before, and jump over to the concrete wall to turn off the cameras.

The cameras will teleport to a metal platform in front of you. Jump over to the other concrete wall in front of you, and drop down behind the cameras.

The final camera will go back to its initial position, directly in the center of the area. Go behind it and shut it to complete the quest. As a reward, you’ll earn the Shiny Pebble artifact recipe, which will slowly restore health up to 50% while using a gravity anomaly.
