All important choices in Dispatch

28 January 20265 Mins Read

Dispatch is a game that is directed entirely by your choices. Everyone’s playthrough is a little different, but everyone has their desired outcome, whether it’s falling in love with Blonde Blazer or Invisigal, becoming an inspiring mentor, or being a true hero.

However, in dialogue-driven adventure games like Dispatch, you never really know if your decisions will change your future, if they align with your morals, or if they’re even important. Which hero should you fire? Should you attack that reporter? Should you kiss her? There are all impactful decisions, but which choice should you choose for the outcome you want?

Below, we explain all of the important choices in Dispatch, and how they’ll affect your adventure and ending.

[Ed. note: Spoilers follow for Dispatch. If you’d like to discover the game at your own pace, bookmark this page and come back later.]

Before you get started…

We recommend playing through Dispatch naturally for your first experience. However, if you’re hunting achievements, aiming for a specific ending, or you know you’re only going to play Dispatch once, you’ll need to make the right decisions to get the outcome you want.

Throughout this guide, we will explain all of the choices that have some sort of effect on your story. Some choices will have major effects, such as changing your ending, while others will have more minor effects, like unlocking an achievement. As Dispatch is a dialogue-driven adventure game, your ending isn’t decided by one choice, but rather an amalgamation of all of your choices. There are three endings that are affected by decisions you make throughout the entire game:

  • Romance: Choose between Blonde Blazer, Invisigal, or no one.
  • Mentor: Succeed or fail as a mentor for Invisigal.
  • Hero: Act as a true hero, antihero, or everyman.

To make things a little more complicated, these three outcomes are intertwined, as some choices affect multiple outcomes. For example, being a good mentor for Invisigal is tied to improving your romantic relationship with her. In fact, if you do not get the “Succeed as a Mentor” ending, you will not be able to romance Invisigal.

To make things even more complicated, each of these outcomes have invisible in-game values that change depending on your choices. For example, doing something a little devious, like dropping the villain off of your balcony at the beginning of Episode 1, will add one point to the Antihero Counter. Romance functions a little differently as there are a bunch of true or false checks in addition to a numeric value called the “Sweet Exit Counter” that will dictate whether you’re able to choose Invisigal as your love interest. If you want to choose neither Blonde Blazer or Invisigal, you’ll need to decline every advancement from Blonde Blazer and keep the Sweet Exit Counter less than 10.

Once you reach the end of the game, all of your choices will add up and adjust your ending accordingly. Here are the total values you’ll need to hit for each ending:

  • Romance: Sweet Exit Counter must be 10 or greater to romance Invisigal.
  • Mentor: Robert Mentor Counter must be 45 or greater to succeed as a mentor.
  • Hero: Need at least 20 Hero points to be a true hero, at least 20 Antihero points to be an antihero, or less than 20 points for both to be an everyman.

Additionally, as romance functions a little differently, here’s how you can choose your romantic partner:

  • Blonde Blazer: Go to dinner with Blazer in Episode 4 and kiss her. Do not kiss Invisigal.
  • Invisigal: Increase Sweet Exit Counter to at least 10, kiss her in the locker room in Episode 7, and succeed as a mentor.
  • Both (technically Invisigal): Kiss Blonde Blazer on the dinner date, kiss Invisigal in the locker room in Episode 7, and succeed as a mentor.
  • No one: There are a few ways to end up with no one. We suggest following the same requirements for Invisigal or both, but failing as a mentor.

Now, this can be a lot to take in and a lot to keep track of, so we recommend using a mod that shows you the values of each choice. This will help you decide which choice you should make if you don’t like being rushed by the in-game timer. Additionally, you don’t necessarily have to keep track of the values themselves, as, if you’re going for a specific ending, you’d only pick choices that increase their respective counter.

If you’d like a more in-depth explanation of how the systems in Dispatch work, we strongly recommend checking out these Reddit threads:

Without further ado, we’ve listed out all of the important choices and what they change in the sections below.

All important choices in Dispatch

Dispatch has eight episodes in total, and each episode has important decisions that’ll impact your playthrough across the entire game. In the guides below, we will only be covering major choices that have an effect on the broader story. If you come across a choice in-game that doesn’t appear in this guide, it’s a minor choice and you can select whatever option you’d like!
