Auberge Collection has expanded into Africa with the introduction of Auberge Safari, a portfolio comprising nine camps and lodges located across several regions of Tanzania. The new group brings together properties operated by Legendary Expeditions and Chem Chem Safari, which now operate under the Auberge Safari umbrella.
The nine properties are situated across various wildlife areas in Tanzania, including the Serengeti, the Greater Mwiba Protected Wildlife Area, the Burunge Wildlife Management Area, and Arusha. The properties included in Auberge Safari are Mwiba Lodge, Mwiba Plains, Mila, Nyasi, Songa, Legendary Lodge, Chem Chem Lodge, Little Chem Chem, and Forest Chem Chem.
Mwiba Lodge is located in the Greater Mwiba Protected Wildlife Area and features ten tented suites with private decks. Mwiba Plains, also in the Greater Mwiba Protected Wildlife Area, offers seven tented rooms and two family suites. Mila is located in Nyasirori, Western Serengeti, and includes five tented rooms and one family suite. Nyasi is positioned in Lamai, Northern Serengeti, with seven tented rooms and two family suites. Songa is in Kogatende, Northern Serengeti, and has eight tented rooms and a family suite.
Legendary Lodge, located in Arusha on a coffee estate, offers 12 cottages. Chem Chem Lodge is in the Burunge Wildlife Management Area and provides seven tented suites and a family unit. Little Chem Chem, also in the Burunge Wildlife Management Area, features five tented rooms and a family suite. Forest Chem Chem, in the same area, consists of three tented rooms and a family unit.
The Auberge Safari portfolio covers areas including Serengeti National Park, Greater Mwiba Protected Wildlife Area, and Burunge Wildlife Management Area, collectively spanning approximately 600,000 acres. The properties offer access to wildlife experiences, including the Great Migration, elephant viewing, and interactions with local communities.
Auberge Safari operates with a stated commitment to conservation, with each stay supporting the Friedkin Conservation Fund and the Chem Chem Association. The Friedkin Conservation Fund works in the Greater Mwiba Protected Wildlife Area and supports the passage of the Great Migration, while the Chem Chem Association focuses on the Burunge Wildlife Management Area, which serves as a wildlife corridor between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks.
This development represents Auberge Collection’s first presence in Africa.
