AvantStay has taken over management of The Mara Laguna Beach, a former Sonder-operated property at 1600 S. Coast Highway in Laguna Beach. The 66-room hotel is now accepting bookings and welcoming guests, with its official opening held on April 20. This marks AvantStay’s ninth takeover of a former Sonder-operated hotel.

Located one block from the beach in Laguna Beach’s Pearl District, The Mara features guest rooms with modern coastal design. Amenities include a rooftop terrace with ocean views, a pool, a hot tub, and communal spaces for guests. Concierge services are available throughout the stay.

The hotel offers access to nearby beaches, galleries, and local dining, and is within walking distance of coves such as Woods Cove and Crescent Bay.

AvantStay operates more than 3,000 properties across 65 destinations. The company’s expansion into The Mara Laguna Beach is part of its ongoing growth in Southern California and its strategy to expand its presence in high-demand markets.
