Eugene Mirman, the voice of Gene Belcher on the award-winning animated series Bob’s Burgers, has been hospitalized after being dragged from a fiery car crash.
TMZ, who was first to report the news, has shared that Mirman was in Bedford, New Hampshire, yesterday morning, March 31, when his 2026 Lucid Gravity struck the Everett Turnpike’s Bedford Toll Plaza then exploded into flames.

Images and video footage published by WMUR local news show Mirman’s electric car totaled and on fire with pitch-black smoke filling the sky.
According to a press release from police, the voice actor was stuck inside the car in the driver’s seat before several witnesses including a veteran State Trooper assigned to Gov. Kelly Ayotte’s security detail pulled Mirman through the car window to safety.
Mirman, 51, of Massachusetts, was then transported to Elliot Hospital in the area with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. His condition today is not yet clear.
“Certainly, their actions were heroic in what they did,” Col. Mark Hall said in a statement. “Without hesitation, they put themselves in danger to render aid to someone who was in need of it.”
Mirman, a comedian and actor, has lent his voice the stout character of Gene, the Belchers’ son, on the animated series since its debut in 2011. He has also appeared in series like Last Week Tonight With John Oliver and Teenage Euthanasia, as well as in films including Confess, Fletch and The Bob’s Burgers Movie.
