Bridgerton has a habit of putting extensive Easter Eggs in their seasons on which sibling will find love next. Showrunner and executive producer Jess Brownell revealed Bridgerton Season 5 and Season 6 will focus on Eloise and Francesca.
During the Paris red carpet of Bridgerton Season 4, Brownell told Deadline that her embroidered pocket square was a clue to who would be the main focal point of the forthcoming seasons.
A look at her purple-toned suit ensemble revealed a white pocket square with the letters “E” and “F” embroidered on the pointed edges. But the showrunner is keeping a few things a secret until the official confirmation.
“Both characters with the initials on my pocket square will get seasons in 5 and 6,” she said. “In what order? I can’t say.”

The news may not come as a surprise to fans, seeing as Shonda Rhimes has already confirmed since the beginning to adapt all of Julia Quinn‘s novels. The Netflix series has also kept in tune with exploring the Bridgerton sibling romances based on the order of the books and their ages.
The question is, if Francesca is the next season’s focus, or will it be Eloise? Fans have long been waiting to see Eloise begin her romance with Sir Phillip Crane, seeing as she has, for a long time, been opposed to finding a husband and declared herself a spinster for Season 4.
Based on prior seasons, it may be time for Francesca and John Kilmartin’s love story to reach its pinnacle in Season 5. Unlike other installments, Francesca’s storyline was heavily established in Season 3, with her marrying John. Season 4 promises to further explore their marriage and possible turmoil.
Fans of the books are well aware that Francesca has one of the saddest storylines, with her dealing with infertility, becoming a widow after John’s death, and falling in love with his cousin Michael. Bridgerton has already introduced Sir Phillip and Michael, who was gender-swapped to Michaela.
Season 5 may focus on Eloise’s pen-pal romance with Sir Phillip and possibly explore Francesca’s tragedy of becoming a widow in the backdrop of the season. Leaving her romance with Michaela as a focus for Season 6, seeing as Francesca’s story has her marry Michael years after John’s death.
