Canada’s first afternoon tea bus tour is coming to Toronto in a pink double-decker bus

26 May 20263 Mins Read

A pink double-decker bus will be rolling through the streets of Toronto, bringing in Canada’s first afternoon tea experience served in motion. Here’s what to know about High Sociétéa.

Though we’ve seen our fair share of jaw-dropping, questionable, and even shocking scenes in the city, there’s nothing quite like this.

It’s huge, it’s pink, and it’s moving. This double-decker experience offers a curated city tour, live violin, and a theatrical onboard experience under a panoramic glass roof with 180-degree city views.

High Sociétéa blossoms from shared experiences between founder and creator Veruschka Mungroo and her mother.

A memorable ritual

“When her mother was diagnosed with dementia, Mungroo found herself returning to one specific ritual: afternoon tea together in South Africa,” shared High Sociétéa in a press release.

“Those memories became the inspiration for something greater, a space designed to evoke the same sense of warmth, presence and togetherness across the city, inviting guests to pause and reconnect.”

Inside the bus, attendees will find soft floral booths, layered textures and golden accents that decorate its interior. According to the team, every detail was thoughtfully curated to take guests through a full sensory experience.

When on board, guests will have the opportunity to choose from multiple experience packages. These include a curated selection of teas, seasonal non-alcoholic rosé, and delicate tea sandwiches and pastries.

“I wanted to create a space that honours connection, nostalgia, and the kind of joy that stays with you,” says Mungroo.

“Not just a beautiful experience, but a meaningful one. One where people can make memories, as I have with my mother. And Toronto, with its rich multicultural tapestry and deep appreciation for community, felt like a natural home for it.”

High Sociétéa kicks off on Thursday, June 4, and will run for 90 minutes. It will then be available Thursdays to Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through June 2026. After June, tours will run Tuesdays to Sundays from 10:30 a.m to 6 p.m.

It can be booked online and starts at $125 for the Classic experience.
