CityHub plans to develop a hotel at Leipziger Platz in Berlin Mitte in partnership with Columbia Threadneedle Investments.
The hotel will occupy about 2,100 square meters of existing retail space in a mixed-use commercial building. The previously vacant space will be converted for hotel use.
The planned hotel will have 139 Hubs, comprising 122 standard Hubs and 17 accessible Hubs. Guest facilities are to include a sauna, shared bathrooms and social spaces.
Leipziger Platz is located at a crossroads along the former border between East and West Berlin, near Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz, Checkpoint Charlie, Museum Island and Tiergarten.
The surrounding area includes restaurants, cafés, bars, cultural attractions and shopping destinations. Public transport connections provide access to the Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, Neukölln and Charlottenburg neighborhoods.
The project will adaptively reuse the retail space rather than build new, incorporating CityHub’s prefabricated Hub concept and modular design.
The Berlin development follows CityHub locations in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Copenhagen and Reykjavik, as well as an announced development in Hamburg.
Construction and redevelopment work is expected to progress ahead of the planned Q4 2027 opening.
