R.D. Olson Construction has broken ground on the $116 million, 70-key Senoa Resort & Spa on 11.5 acres in Sedona, Arizona, with an opening slated for late 2028.
The villa-style wellness resort will be located at 150 Schnebly Hill Road in Sedona. The site is minutes from downtown Sedona and includes desert and creekside areas.
R.D. Olson Construction is working with R.D. Olson Development and Senoa Investment Partners on the project. AO is the architect of record, and WATG is the entitlement architect.
The resort will comprise 29 free-standing structures. Plans call for site-sensitive materials, preservation of sightlines and salvage of Soaptree yucca plants.
Senoa Resort & Spa is expected to add more than 150 jobs in hospitality, health and construction.
Planned amenities include a two-story creekside restaurant with indigenous menu options, a Red Rock Saloon bar concept, an event lawn with green foliage and private creek access, and a poolside area. The resort will also include a 5,500-square-foot spa and a 3,200-square-foot multipurpose space for meetings and events.
Guest accommodations are planned to range from 600-square-foot king bedrooms to 720-square-foot suites and a 1,300-square-foot presidential suite. The rooms are planned with indoor-outdoor layouts.
Construction is planned in two phases. The first phase will include demolition and remediation of existing buildings, grading, drainage, utilities, site-work improvements and certification of building pads. The second phase will include construction of new villas and final site work.
