IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with AR Infra Consultancy to develop the 250-key Crowne Plaza Hyderabad Shamshabad Airport Road, scheduled to open in Q1 2031.
The hotel will be located adjacent to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and the 3.5 million-square-foot World Trade Centre. It will mark Crowne Plaza’s entry into Hyderabad.
The property is planned for Shamshabad, an emerging growth corridor supported by commercial, industrial and infrastructure development. The hotel is intended to serve airport transit, corporate travel, meetings and events, long-stay guests, and project- and industrial-related demand.
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport handled approximately 31 million passengers in 2025. The upcoming World Trade Centre, expanding Aeronautical Park, aerospace and industrial parks, logistics infrastructure and mixed-use developments are expected to support corporate and travel demand in the area in coming years.
Once operational, Crowne Plaza Hyderabad Shamshabad Airport Road will have 250 keys, including 37 suites. Food and beverage facilities are planned to include five outlets: a 187-seat all-day dining restaurant, a 65-seat bar, a 65-seat specialty restaurant, a 65-seat pool bar and a 55-seat lobby lounge.
The hotel is also planned to include 1,170 square meters of meeting space across five venues, including an 800-square-meter ballroom. Other planned facilities include a club lounge, pool, fitness center, spa and parking spaces.
The agreement adds a Crowne Plaza property to IHG’s Hyderabad portfolio. IHG currently operates two Holiday Inn Express hotels in the city and has an InterContinental hotel under development.
AR Infra Consultancy is developing the project as its first venture into the hospitality sector. The company has real estate and infrastructure experience in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
IHG currently has 53 open hotels across seven brands in India: Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Vignette Collection, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express. The company also reported a pipeline of 110 hotels due to open in the next three to five years.
