Edmonton has an all-new Nordic spa with an outdoor saltwater pool and a Finnish sauna

19 October 20264 Mins Read

Ro Nordic Spa just recently opened in Edmonton, offering a new spa experience with relaxing and rejuvenating amenities to explore at your own pace.

This relaxing spa is open in central Edmonton, complete with its own outdoor saltwater pool, cold plunge, sauna and more. Guests are welcome to book a session or walk in and move throughout the Nordic circuit, giving people a space to reconnect with themselves without any distractions.

If you’re looking for a refresh this season, Ro Nordic Spa is the perfect place to help get you restored.

What to expect at Ro Nordic Spa

When you arrive, there are free lockers provided to store your personal belongings. Each guest will also receive a bathrobe and two towels, one for sitting on in the sauna and one for the shower. Sandals can be rented for a fee as well.

According to its website, the Ro Nordic circuit is designed to relax, detoxify, and restore the body. The ritual consists of hot, cold, and rest that’s repeated.

All sessions include access to the saltwater hot tub, Finnish sauna, saltwater cold plunge, and indoor and outdoor lounge areas with fireplaces, which you can move between at your own pace. Essential oils are provided for the sauna, and the showers are stocked with organic shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

You’ll also be able to add on massage treatments from a registered RMT soon.

There is complimentary tea and water on site for guests, but there’s also a collection of sparkling water, craft soft drinks, and kombucha for purchase. In the future, Ro Nordic Spa plans to become licensed to serve local beer, seltzers, wine, prosecco, and champagne.

Another important thing to keep in mind: these spa and massage sessions are exclusively for those 18 and over. In addition, this space is a phone- and electronic-free zone, with devices to be stored in the lockers provided.

How much does a session typically cost?

There are three types of sessions available to book: community sessions, private group sessions, and Friday night socials.

Community sessions are shared and cost $48 per person from Monday to Friday until 5 p.m., and then cost $55 per person after 5 p.m. on Fridays and the rest of the weekend. These sessions last 105 minutes, and reservations are recommended.

Private group sessions accommodate up to 14 guests for a two-hour time period. These sessions cost $275 for up to five guests, and then $42 per additional guest on weekdays before 5 p.m. On weekdays after 5 p.m., it rises to $300 for up to five guests and $48 per additional guest. On weekends, it’s $325 for up to five guests with $55 per additional guest. Reservations are required for private group sessions.

Friday night social sessions offer a more lively energy. You’ll get to enjoy good music and great upbeat vibes for a two and a half hour period. These sessions are only on Fridays from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. for $60 per person.

Massages are not available to book just yet, but start at $120 for a one-hour session, $170 for 90 minutes, and $225 for two hours.

Ro Nordic Spa is already open for business, so there’s no need to wait to hop into Ro’s circuit this season. For those looking to treat themselves and relax, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.

When: Daily
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: 10023 81st Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
