Edmonton’s getting a three-day festival with pop-up galleries and street performers

12 August 20263 Mins Read

Kaleido Festival has been running in Edmonton for over 20 years, and this radically open arts festival is back for another round of food, performances, and community.

Presented by Arts on the Ave, Kaleido is a family-friendly, joyous, exuberant festival that shares and spreads the community love and support present in Edmonton. Here, folks are welcome to celebrate the arts, culture, and community that makes the city and discover a variety of events and vendors in alleys, rooftops, and parks all throughout Alberta Avenue.

For three days this September, the festival will be making its return for the 21st annual fest.

What to expect at the Kaleido Festival

Starting Sept. 18 until Sept. 20, Alberta Avenue will be lit up with vibrant energy in the name of Kaleido. Throughout these three days, you’ll be able to explore 90th to 95th Street on 118th Avenue and see what the festival has to offer.

Although there’s not an exact program for what to expect this year, we can only assume it’s going to be the same great festivities it has offered in the past. This means main stage acts, street performers galore, market vendors throughout the area, and great food trucks, too.

If you’re looking to be one of these vendors or performers, applications are actually still open. Take a chance and apply today! The festival is taking volunteers at this time as well, so for those looking to support the community in another way, this is the perfect opportunity.

There’s also a 50/50 lottery running for the festival, where folks can buy tickets to win half of the prize pot. By buying these tickets, your money goes directly to supporting the Kaleido Family Arts Festival.

A few things to keep in mind: this festival will carry on whether rain or shine. The festival suggests bringing clothing for outdoor and indoor fun. Also, they remind folks to bring your blankets and short chairs for mainstage area acts.

In all honesty, just get ready for a great time. With great community vibes and a bustling atmosphere, this weekend is a guaranteed blast for everyone in the family.

When: Friday, Sept. 18, 2026 to Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026
Time: TBA
Where: 90th Street to 95th Street on 118th Avenue, Edmonton
Cost: Free
