Flight Bookings and Hotel Occupancy Record Growth of Up to +100% and +68%

21 October 20265 Mins Read

  • Flight bookings rise significantly during concert windows in Nagoya, Japan (+100%), Singapore, (+62%) and Bangkok, Thailand (+41%)
  • Compared to the same nights in 2025, hotel occupancy rises by an average of +49% in Singapore and +31% in Bangkok on concert nights
  • Singapore sees the highest single night hotel occupancy increase, up +68% compared to last year on a key concert night
  • Average daily room rates for BTS’s Singapore show nights are up +6% year on year, and up +15% across the Bangkok show week
  • Two of the largest K-Pop groups, BTS and BIGBANG, are currently on sell-out global tours. Their fanbases and impact are hard to overstate; BTS alone has 81.6 million followers on Instagram and has racked up over 55 billion streams on Spotify. For context, that’s more than the entire population of Thailand in Instagram followers and over 300,000 years of continuous listening. BTS and BIGBANG’s return has started to sell out stadiums – but how is travel impacted?

Analysis from Amadeus Travel Intelligence reveals significant spikes in flight bookings and occupancy in Nagoya, Singapore and Bangkok on BTS and BIGBANG performance days.

BTS performances linked to +68% increase in hotel occupancy in Singapore

BTS will perform in Singapore at the National Stadium on the 17, 19, 20, and 22 of December 2026.

International air arrivals between 16 and 23 December 2026 are up +62% compared to the same dates last year. Northeast and Southeast Asian markets have seen particularly pronounced increases in bookings year-on-year, including the Philippines (+647%), Thailand (+569%), and South Korea (+342%). Notably, the Philippines has risen from the ninth-largest source market to the second in a year.

Hotel occupancy between the 17 and 22 of December is outpacing last year, averaging a daily occupancy rate of 32%, which is a +49% year-on-year increase. This peaks at 40% on the 19 of December, the night of a show and the night before. This is + 68% ahead of the rooms booked for that night at the same point last year.

The average daily rate across the six show nights is $237, up +6% on last year, with the premium concentrated at the start of the run: rates for 16, 17, and 18 December 2026 are up +10%, +11%, and +12%, easing to +4% by the final show.

Flight bookings to Bangkok for BTS week up +41% on last year

BTS is set to perform on the 3, 5 and 6 of December at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok.

International air bookings for arrival between the 30 of November and the 6 of December 2026 are up +41% on the same time last year. This growth is largely driven by travelers from Southeast Asia, with air bookings up +199%, with Indonesia (+350%), Singapore (+296%) and the Philippines (+206%) are among the fastest-growing origin markets.

Hotel occupancy on the show nights of 3 and 5 December 2026 is up + 31% on average compared to the same nights at the same point in 2025.

Rates are up about +15% year-on-year on every night of the week, show night or not, at $121 against $105 last year, with the two show nights at $118 (3 December, up + 18%) and $123 (5 December, up + 12%). Bangkok hotels rates are higher than last year across the board.

Flight bookings to Nagoya from South Korea increase +185% during the week of BIGBANG performances compared to the same week in 2025

The “Kings of K-Pop”, BIGBANG, are performing at Vantelin Dome Nagoya on the 5 and 6 of December 2026.

Flight bookings to Nagoya, Japan, for this window have increased by + 100% compared to the same time in 2025. South Korea supplies nearly half of the rise and now holds 37% of bookings, up + 185% on last year. Seoul is the largest international origin city at 28% of bookings, up +122% on 2025.

Paul Wilson, Senior Vice President, Hospitality, Asia Pacific, Amadeus commented, “With the rising popularity of K-pop we are seeing a profound shift where the fandom of these internationally recognized bands is redefining tourism across Asia Pacific. The data shows the huge impact these concert dates can have on traveler booking patterns and hotel occupancy. For hoteliers and DMOs alike, these cultural moments offer a chance to capture new demand and showcase the region’s hospitality. It is an opportunity to encourage travelers to extend their stays with enticing offers and local experiences to help them explore these beautiful destinations.”
