The ABC soap opera General Hospital released a first look at its upcoming tribute episode honoring Daytime Emmy winner Anthony Geary, the actor best known for his iconic role as Luke Spencer.
The preview was shared on the official General Hospital Instagram account, which wrote, “Every memory leads back to Luke Spencer.
Join us this Friday, February 20th, for a very special (and emotional) episode honoring his legacy. @ABC@hulu#GH#GeneralHospital”

The special was first announced last month by TV Insider’s Stephanie Sloan. The special is expected to reflect on Geary’s long tenure on the ABC soap opera.

Fans took to the comment section to share their thoughts and memories for the beloved daytime icon. Following his departure from General Hospital, Geary lived in Amsterdam with his husband, Claudio Gama, and largely remained out of the public eye, Geary died on December 14, 2025 due to complications from a scheduled medical procedure.
Geary first originated the role of Luke Spencer in 1978 and remained on the series until 1984. He returned to General Hospital in 1993 and continued in the role until his retirement in 2015.
In addition to Luke, Geary portrayed Bill Eckert, a cousin of Luke’s, from 1991 to 1993. He also reprised Luke Spencer on the spinoff series Port Charles in 1998 and General Hospital: Night Shift in 2008.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams weeknights on Hulu.
