It’s official: Canadian shoppers can once again shop at Bed Bath & Beyond, but they’ll have to do things a little differently this time.
Bed Bath & Beyond exited the Canadian market after shutting all of its 54 stores nationwide in 2023 due to significant losses. As of Tuesday, the home retailer is back and is now owned and operated by Sleep Country Canada.
However, for shoppers hoping to grab a cart and browse the aisles for the latest in home decor and small appliances, they may have to wait a little longer. That’s because the company appears to be making a cautious return, starting with an online store that launched on Tuesday morning.
Shoppers who prefer an in-person experience will need to be patient, as physical stores aren’t slated to open until late 2027. Daily Hive reached out for a comment, but the company hasn’t shared how many locations it plans to open.
For now, the online store has been tailored for the Canadian market, featuring around 6,000 products from over 80 brands. Canadian brands include Umbra, Brunelli, Meyer Cookware, and the Canadian Down & Feather Company. Categories span bed, bath, kitchen, dining, decor, organization, baby, and seasonal.
Carol Deacon, president at Bed Bath & Beyond Canada, says that the team is looking forward to welcoming a new generation.
“We’ve taken what people know and love about the brand and given them new reasons to discover it, with a thoughtful assortment that brings together style, function, and accessibility,” she states. “This homecoming isn’t about looking backward. It’s about taking a name Canadians already know and trust forward.”
The Canadian relaunch follows Bed Bath & Beyond’s return to the U.S. market. The company reopened its first brick-and-mortar store in 2025 in Nashville, Tenn. At the opening, shoppers were encouraged to bring old coupons, which the store said it would honour.
