Since Easter is on the weekend and it’s not a stat holiday, you might not know what’s open and closed in Toronto.
That includes grocery stores, liquor stores, pharmacies, malls, and more.
There are a lot of closures on Sunday, April 5, but some stores, malls, attractions and services in the city are open.
So, here’s everything you need to know about what’s closed and open on Easter Sunday in Toronto.
Grocery stores
Costco: All Costco stores are closed on Easter Sunday.
Loblaws: All of the Loblaws stores in Toronto are closed on April 5 except for the Carlton location (60 Carlton Street), which is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
No Frills: No Frills stores are closed on Easter Sunday.
Walmart: All of the Walmart stores in Toronto are closed except the Rexdale location (2245 Islington Avenue), which is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Sobeys: Only the Sobeys High Park store (199 Roncesvalles Avenue) is open on Easter Sunday. You can shop from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
FreshCo: Stores are closed on April 5.
Farm Boy: All stores in Toronto are closed on Easter Sunday.
Metro: All of the Metro stores in Toronto are closed on Easter Sunday except for the College Park location (444 Yonge Street), which is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Longo’s: Closed on Easter Sunday.
Food Basics: All stores are closed on April 5.
Rabba: All locations are open 24/7.
Foodland: Only the Queen location (2040 Queen Street East) is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Easter Sunday.
Whole Foods: The Yorkville location (87 Avenue Road) is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Easter Sunday.

ServiceOntario: All ServiceOntario locations in Toronto are closed on Sunday as usual because it’s the weekend. But some services can be done online.
311: Toronto’s 311 assistance service is available 24/7.
Canada Post: Canada Post doesn’t deliver or collect mail on weekends. But some privately operated post offices, including those in Shoppers Drug Mart stores, are open on Easter Sunday.
Transit
TTC: TTC service is on a regular schedule on Easter, but there is no subway service on Line 1 between St. George and St. Andrew stations for planned station work. No shuttle buses are operating between the stations on Sunday.
Also, there are temporary route changes for 92 Woodbine South, 501 Queen and 64 Main because of an Easter in the Beaches.
GO Transit: GO Transit routes are operating on a regular Sunday schedule on April 5.
