Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson is a homeowner! The Ashley Roundup reports the reality star, now 21, has purchased her first home in Colorado with her boyfriend, Drawing Carswell.
She shared the news in a post on social media. “We are officially HOMEOWNERS!” she posted to Facebook. “This may not seem like much to some, but it means the world to us. So many emotions, so much patience, and so many moments wondering if it would finally happen, and now we get to say this home is OURS,” she captioned the photo. “Here’s to building our future and making memories in a place we can call our own.”
In an update to Instagram, she shared that she’s excited to get started on some home renovation projects, noting she is looking for someone to hire to remodel both of the bathrooms in her new Denver home.
Alana moved to Denver in 2023, where she began attending college at Regis University, with dreams of becoming a pediatric nurse. She is slated to graduate in 2029. Her boyfriend moved with her.
Despite them being the first new homeowners, this isn’t the first time they’ve lived together. The two have been living together for some time. Her mother, Mama June Shannon, and husband Justin Stroud revealed on TikTok in May that the couple had actually been living together when Alana was just 15.
Alana and her boyfriend’s relationship has caused some controversy within her family at times due to his criminal background. In 2023, he pleaded not guilty after being arrested before leading police on a chase with his then-underage girlfriend (Alana) along for the ride. Alana was not arrested at the time, and instead was taken home after being picked up by her sister, Pumpkin.
During a search of the vehicle, police reportedly discovered a bag of marijuana and an unregistered firearm, and it was later revealed that Carswell had marijuana in his system at a potency level “to the extent that it was less safe for him to drive,” according to court documents obtained by The Sun.
