Hospitality Upgrade Publisher Geneva Rinehart To Leave in 2026

7 October 20262 Mins Read

In Brief: Geneva Rinehart, publisher of Hospitality Upgrade, will depart the publication in 2026, marking a forthcoming change in leadership at the hospitality technology media company.

Hospitality Upgrade Publisher Geneva Rinehart will leave her position at the end of 2026, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals announced.

Rinehart will remain in her role through Dec. 31, 2026. Details about future leadership will be shared in the coming weeks.

Rinehart began her publishing career in 1995 with the launch of The Hospitality & Automation Update, which preceded Hospitality Upgrade magazine. Her work included the magazine’s first digital edition in 2003, which incorporated QR codes, augmented reality, video and multimedia.

She was involved in conferences including the Executive Vendor Summit and the CIO Summit. HFTP and Hospitality Upgrade worked as allied partners to develop hospitality technology information and resources, including through producing the CIO Summit and Executive Vendor Summit.

In 2017, Rinehart curated a publication on the history of technology for the hotel industry and compiled Hospitality Upgrade’s Marriott Americas’ IT edition. She also helped develop and redesign the Hospitality Upgrade website and newsletter.

HFTP acquired Siegel Communications in 2024, including Hospitality Upgrade and Hotel Online. Rinehart continued as publisher following the acquisition.

In 2023, Rinehart received the HFTP Paragon Award for her contribution to producing a hospitality technology information resource. She was also recognized for connecting vendors, hotel companies and consultants and sharing information on technology trends and contributions within the hospitality sector.
