IHG Hotels & Resorts signed Hotel Indigo Yogyakarta on Oct. 7, 2026. The property will be IHG’s first hotel in Yogyakarta and is being developed in partnership with PT Raka Eka Makmur.

Scheduled to open in 2029, the hotel will have approximately 740 square meters of meeting and event space, including a ballroom and multiple meeting rooms.

Planned amenities include an all-day dining restaurant, rooftop bar and terrace, swimming pool, fitness center and spa. The hotel’s design will reflect Yogyakarta’s cultural identity and creative heritage.

The signing is the first partnership between IHG and PT Raka Eka Makmur. Yogyakarta is a gateway to Borobudur, one of Indonesia’s five Super Priority Destinations, and has travel demand and air connectivity through Yogyakarta International Airport.

Yogyakarta is associated with arts, culinary and cultural activities. Borobudur and Prambanan are UNESCO World Heritage sites accessible from the city.

IHG currently operates three Hotel Indigo properties in Indonesia, including Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach and properties in Bandung and Bintan. A further six Hotel Indigo properties are in the pipeline in destinations including Bali, Jakarta and Lombok.

Across its Indonesia portfolio, IHG operates 35 hotels under nine brands and has 13 additional properties in the pipeline.
