In Brief: HVS reports on key hotel sales and investment activity across Europe for the week ending 16 October 2026

Leonardo acquires The Bristol Hotel in the UK from The Doyle Collection

Leonardo Hotels, the European division of the Israeli owner-operator Fattal Hotel Group, has acquired the four-star, 187-room Bristol Hotel in the south-west of England, from Irish owner-operator The Doyle Collection. Situated in the centre of Bristol, a city of some 500,000 people, on the quayside of the Floating Harbour, the hotel includes two restaurants, a bar and nine meeting rooms. Following the acquisition, the property will be rebranded as Leonardo Royal Hotel Bristol and will undergo a phased £11.5 million (£61,500 per room) refurbishment of its guest rooms and public spaces. The deal is the first under Fattal’s third partnership with institutional investors in the last four years, which have raised over €850 million of equity for acquisitions.

FLE acquires Holiday Inn Zurich Messe from Intreal

FLE GmbH, the Vienna-based real estate arm of French investment group LFPI, has acquired the 164-room Holiday Inn Zurich Messe in Switzerland from German fund administrator Intreal, acting on behalf of a real estate special fund. The property, which includes a restaurant, bar and seven meeting rooms, is situated opposite Messe Zürich exhibition centre, halfway between Zurich Airport and Zurich city centre. The hotel is let on a long-term lease and will continue to operate under IHG’s Holiday Inn brand.

MCR acquires London Kensington Holland Park hostel from Safestay

British real estate investment company MCR Property Group has acquired the leasehold interest in the 331-bed Safestay London Kensington Holland Park in the UK from British hostel owner-operator Safestay. The hostel sits in part of the Grade-1 listed Holland House inside Holland Park in Kensington, West London, within a 10-minute walk from both the High Street Kensington and Holland Park tube stations. Following the acquisition, MCR plans a multi-million-pound refurbishment and will use the property to launch a new, yet-to-be-named hostel brand, with further hostel deals reportedly in the pipeline.

YOU Famille Hôtelière acquires Ibis Paris Pont de Suresnes

French owner-operator YOU Famille Hôtelière has announced its acquisition of the three-star, 62-room Ibis Paris Pont de Suresnes in France. The property is situated in Suresnes, a western suburb of Paris, across the Seine from the Bois de Boulogne and close to La Défense. The hotel includes a breakfast restaurant and bar. Following the acquisition, YOU plans to refurbish the guest rooms and common areas. YOU operates over 80 hotels in six European countries.

Deutsche Zinshaus acquires former TRYP by Wyndham Frankfurt

German real estate investor Deutsche Zinshaus Gruppe has acquired the former three-star, 142-room TRYP by Wyndham Frankfurt in Germany. The hotel closed in 2024 and is situated in Frankfurt’s Gallus district, between the central train station and the Messe trade fair grounds. Deutsche Zinshaus plans to convert the former hotel into 132 fully furnished micro-apartments with up to three ground-floor commercial units, a full technical and energy overhaul, and construction expected to start in Q1 2027.

Dubai family office acquires Voco Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa in Surrey, England

A Dubai family office has acquired the four-star, 60-room Voco Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa in Surrey, England, out of administration, off a guide price of £8.25 million (£137,500 per room). Set on 22 acres, the property is situated in Haslemere in the south of Surrey, around halfway between London and Southampton. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar and three meeting rooms. The previous owners were Wiltshire-based Nq2 Hospitality, who acquired the property in 2022 before it fell into administration in 2025. The new owners plan to upgrade the hotel and spa to a five-star level and increase the room count, with existing planning approval in place for an additional 36 guest rooms.
