IHG signs 15-hotel deal to launch Staybridge Suites in Australia

11 September 20262 Mins Read

IHG Hotels & Resorts and Australian property developer ALAND have signed a Master Development Agreement granting ALAND exclusive development rights for Staybridge Suites in Australia.

The agreement covers a portfolio of at least 15 hotels comprising a minimum of 2,000 rooms to be developed across the country.

IHG and ALAND also signed franchise agreements for the first two Staybridge Suites hotels in Australia: the 130-room Staybridge Suites Sydney Parramatta and the 112-room Staybridge Suites Sydney Leppington. Both properties will be in Greater Western Sydney and managed by Signature Hotel Management Group.

The Parramatta and Leppington hotels are the first phase of the national portfolio. The agreements follow the opening of the 130-room voco Gosford within ALAND’s Archibald precinct.

Parramatta and Leppington will serve as the initial Australian markets for Staybridge Suites. Parramatta is one of Sydney’s major commercial centers, while Leppington is near Western Sydney International Airport and the emerging Aerotropolis.

Staybridge Suites had 355 open hotels and 152 hotels in its pipeline as of June 26. The brand is designed for guests traveling for days, weeks or longer and offers residential-style suites and hotel services.

Demand from corporate travelers, project-based work, relocations and guests seeking flexibility for longer stays supports Australia’s extended-stay segment.
