Inside Kela, the new boutique dessert club bringing $10 authentic Greek frozen yogurt to Toronto, Canada Reviews

25 June 20262 Mins Read

Toronto has a brand-new frozen yogurt shop, and it took exactly one Instagram video for people to start debating over the prices.

The chatter started after Toronto lifestyle creator Danielle Michaelov (@yescoffeenodecaf) posted a video showing off Kela, a “Greek Yogurt Club” that just opened for a soft launch at 81 St. Clair Ave. East. They’re serving Greek frozen yogurt made with local Ontario kefir, aiming for a high-protein, no-sugar-added menu with premium toppings and Colombian coffee.

In her video, Michaelov praised the taste of the yogurt and the toppings. But when she asked her followers, “Would you pay this much for frozen yogurt?” the comment section took off.

A cup at Kela costs around $10, which immediately split people down the middle.
Some commenters complained about the price tag, with a few saying you get more food for your money at other local spots.

“You need to fix your pricing, you’re not gonna last charging that much,” one person wrote. Another added, “No matter how insane the chocolate crunch… it’s too expensive.”

On the other side, plenty of people are fine with dropping ten bucks on a premium treat. Fans jumped in with comments like “Immediately yes” and “I’m worth $10.”

The price wasn’t the only thing people noticed. A few commenters pointed out that the shop’s blue-and-white Mediterranean look and minimalist branding look very similar to Myka, a massive international Greek frozen yogurt chain.

Kela’s owners jumped into the comment section themselves to keep things positive, thanking Michaelov for stopping by and explaining that they are a brand-new business working hard to get things right. Despite the online debate, the actual Google reviews from people who have visited are a perfect five stars, with customers praising the service and the food.

If you want to try the chocolate crunch and see if it’s worth the ten bucks, they’re open now near St. Clair station, though hours are still up and down during the soft launch.
