Jelly Roll’s teenage daughter, Bailee Ann, surprised her famous dad on stage during his show in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday, June 13.
The duo then surprised fans with a duet of Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” — and it did not go as planned.
As footage of the special moment went viral online, fans and critics of the “Son of a Sinner” artist mocked the performance on social media.
“oh, so I CAN sing,” one user joked.
“I didn’t go and I still want a refund,” another laughed.
“I was unprepared for how bad this would sound 😭😭” a third noted.

“One time my husband and I recorded ourselves doing karaoke at the bar bc we were drunk and thought we sounded good. We did not. We cannot sing. This reminded me of that,” yet another user shared.
Many social media users simply pointed out that the pair were out of tune, describing the performance as “awkward” and “terrible.”
Bailee — who had just landed from a trip to Europe — took to social media to defend herself.
“Bro tried to surprise my dad on stage the other night and ended up having to sing the WORST possible song for my voice & register,” she wrote in a TikTok Story. “[I] had been flying for 17 hrs and driving for 4 hrs before that so everyone can actually stfu.”
The Midwest audience was one of the last to catch the “Save Me” singer before news of his divorce from wife Bunnie Xo broke on Monday.
Jelly Roll — real name Jason DeFord — filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years on May 18 in Tennessee. According to TMZ, the decision to end their marriage was mutual.
That didn’t stop some critics from using his personal life as a joke in response to the duet video.
“Ngl id file for divorce after this too,” one user wrote.
