Kensington Flea team is bringing a new vintage market to Honest Ed’s Alley, Canada Reviews

9 October 20262 Mins Read

A new vintage and artisan market is coming to Toronto’s Honest Ed’s Alley next weekend, and it’s going to bring a little Kensington Market energy to the redeveloped Mirvish Village.

The team behind Kensington Flea is launching The Alley Bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 17, transforming the pedestrian laneway near Bathurst and Bloor into a shopping destination filled with local makers, vintage finds and independent brands.

The new market will feature everything from art and jewellery to vintage clothing, handmade goods and other one-of-a-kind finds. More than 20 vendors are expected for the grand opening, and shoppers will also get a chance to explore some of the new small businesses opening along the alley.

Bonus: the launch also coincides with the grand opening of the Bazaar Gift Shop at 30 Lennox St. The separate, year-round storefront will offer a curated selection of gifts, home décor, stationery and everyday items from independent makers and designers!

As we previously reported, Honest Ed’s Alley was inspired by Tokyo’s bustling shopping laneways, so look out for neon signs, lantern-style lighting and tiny retail spaces ranging from 150 to 300 square feet. The idea is to give emerging businesses a more affordable way to reach customers, all without having to put down a major deposit or commit to a long-term lease.

The location has its own bit of Toronto history, too. The original Honest Ed’s discount store was a Bloor and Bathurst landmark for nearly 70 years before closing in 2016. The property has since been transformed into Mirvish Village, a mixed-use neighbourhood with shops, restaurants, residential buildings and pedestrian-friendly spaces.

The Oct. 17 launch will be the only Alley Bazaar market held this year, but organizers plan to bring it back every weekend beginning in May 2027, with a rotating lineup of vendors.

The Alley Bazaar’s grand opening runs from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Honest Ed’s Alley. It’ll be accessible from Lennox St between Markham and Bathurst (and yes, admission is free!).
